The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has announced the appointment of Swagata Gupta as its new head of corporate communications. Gupta, who has over two decades of experience, will be spearheading NPCI's strategic communication initiatives and enhancing its corporate presence.
Gupta's appointment comes at a pivotal time as NPCI continues to innovate and expand its portfolio of digital payment solutions, which include widely used services such as UPI (Unified Payments Interface), RuPay, and Bharat BillPay. With the increasing reliance on digital payments in India, Gupta’s role will be crucial in shaping NPCI’s narrative and fostering stronger stakeholder engagement.
Before joining NPCI, Gupta held several key positions in leading organizations across various sectors. She has a rich background in corporate communications, public relations, and brand management, having previously worked with prominent companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank, and Infosys. Her expertise lies in crafting impactful communication strategies, managing corporate reputation, and driving effective media relations.
Gupta’s arrival at NPCI is expected to bolster the organization’s communication strategies at a time when digital payments are becoming increasingly integral to India’s economy. Her leadership will aim to reinforce NPCI’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and customer-centricity.
