Quality Care, India’s largest emerging-cities focused healthcare provider, backed by marquee global investors Blackstone and TPG, has hired two industry veterans, Dr Hari Prasad as the group chairman & non-executive director and Varun Khanna as the group managing director to drive the platform’s rapid growth in South Asia.
Dr Hari Prasad, with over 30 years of experience, was most recently the president of Apollo Group Hospitals, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the journey of Apollo Hospitals having overseen the growth from 1,200 beds to 10,000 beds today. He also serves as the executive chairman of the Society for Emergency Medicine, India.
Varun Khanna has more than 14 years of experience in the healthcare sector and was most recently the managing director of Healthcare Business and Investments at Siloam Hospitals Group, Indonesia (a listed hospital chain), where he supported the growth with its EBITDA increasing from $30 million to $130 million. He was also the chairman of Sahyadri Hospitals in India. He has been a key figure in growing mature multinational medical technology companies and healthcare organizations across India, South Asia and ASEAN.
