Gayatri Rath has moved today to GE as communications, executive director, leading brand and communications for GE South Asia.
Most recently, she was chief marketing and communications officer at a multi-national fintech unicorn, Pine Labs.
Reporting functionally to Rania Rustom, chief communications officer, GE Global and regionally to Mahesh Palashikar, president and CEO, GE South Asia, Gayatri will be responsible for enabling business objectives and serving stakeholders, strengthening GE’s brand position, as well promoting and protecting GE’s reputation across South Asia.
She will work in partnership with the local and global business communications teams to position GE as the most competitive industrial and technology company.
Rath brings more than 25 years’ experience of communications and marketing across various sectors such as information technology, financial services, automotive, and other industries.
Over the years, she has helped grow several global brands in Asia. She has led communications and branding at Oracle, GE Capital, and Microsoft. Rath has extensive experience in communicating during mergers, acquisitions, and cultural transformation, as well as leading cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
In 2020, Rath co-authored and published her first book, A Question of Trust, examining communications as a powerful CEO tool.
Gayatri is passionate about inclusion in the workplace and in society. She has led workplace I&D initiatives over the last decade and is a certified diversity professional from DTUI (Diversity Training University International, USA). During her previous stint with GE in India, she co-led the local chapter of GE Women's Network.
