The report was formally launched at the inaugural edition of PRana 2024: Shaping the Story of India.

The report found that 6 out of 10 respondents believe India will be the 3rd largest economy in the world and it will be a global manufacturing hub for at least five new sectors.  About 45% of Indians surveyed expect the higher economic growth to create 10 million new jobs and livelihood opportunities and India to double its exports.

Shri Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia, Hon’ble Union Minister for Communication and North Eastern Region stated, “India under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is leading the world towards greater heights in every field, be it infrastructure, fintech, federal governance and many more. The Government aims to ensure 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' to accomplish our goal for Viksit Bharat which coincides with 100 years of Independence. I believe all this will not be possible without an informed nation which can only be achieved with transparency and good governance. In my opinion, the communication fraternity will play a crucial role in achieving our goals for its citizens".

Manish Sharma, chairman, of Panasonic Life Solutions India & SA commented, "I believe, India’s true manufacturing potential can be harnessed through unlocking manufacturing demand, opening-up exports to further scale up demand and, fusing supply chains to backward integration. The MSMEs will play an integral role and as we embark on the journey towards a self-reliant India, we need to ensure that MSMEs have access to capital, technology, and markets."

India's Geo-Political Relevance: Permanent Seat at the UN Security Council

The survey also reveals that 6 in 10 Indians believe India is likely to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council and help create a comprehensive convention against international terrorism.

A permanent seat has been a long-standing goal for India, often opposed by China.  The 5 permanent members of the council are Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States.

Respectfully Challenge Status Quo: Imtiaz Ali

The conference included a slew of speakers. First up was Bollywood director Imtiaz Ali, in conversation with Avian WE's Neha Mehrotra. Ali is known for his independent women characters.

He stated, "The ability to respectfully challenge everything that has been told to us, to create our own stories and myths, is a key aspect of media’s role beyond its professional functions."

Visionary Leadership Linked to Reputation

A power-packed track on leadership and reputation included Nadir Godrej, chairman & MD of Godrej Industries, Oscar-winning filmmaker Guneet Monga, and Manish Sharma, chairman of Panasonic Life Solutions India and South Asia. The session was moderated by Suhasini Haidar, diplomatic editor of The Hindu.

Nadir Godrej shared how strategic thinking and innovation are essential to building a lasting reputation in a rapidly changing world. His insights highlight the importance of forward-thinking leadership in shaping and sustaining a brand's legacy.

He stated, "Despite global challenges, the Indian economy is growing well. And decent growth is expected to continue. But India can grow even faster if we ensure opportunity for all. Diversity is essential to make the best decisions and to ensure broad-based empowerment. At the same time, our growth needs to be sustainable because if we destroy our planet none of us will survive leave alone thrive."
